RESPIRATORY PATHOGENS DIAGNOSTICS

Pneumonia is a leading infectious cause of hospitalization and death

Pneumonia is a leading infectious cause of hospitalization and death¹.  Pneumonia patients present with similar symptoms, making diagnosis of the causative agent & treatment challenging.

S. pneumoniae and L. pneumophila shed antigens which can be detected in urine samples. Urine antigen testing is non-invasive and offers the simplicity of urine collection and transport. Results can facilitate early diagnosis and help support appropriate treatment, while also potentially providing a pathway to step down from broad-spectrum antibiotic therapies.
