"FYI" About Our STOOL-PREP

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How long can samples be stored in the STOOL-PREP™ device?
A: The Diluent in the device is the same diluent contained in the TECHLAB® C. DIFFICILE TOX A/B II™; therefore, samples can be stored for up to 72 hours between 2° and 8°C.

Q: Can I use the device for preparation and storage of fecal samples for any EIA?
A: No. The device can only be used for preparation of samples for the TECHLAB® C. DIFFICILE TOX A/B II™.

Q: The diluted fecal sample shoots out the end of the device as soon as I remove the cap. What am I doing wrong?
A: You must remember to hold the device horizontally before removing the cap. This will help vent any build-up of gas and also prevent leakage into the microassay wells of the plate before you are ready to dispense.

Q: I have an automated washer. Is the automated plate washing procedure any different when using the STOOL-PREP™ device since it pre-filters the specimen?
A: Yes. You will need to wash the plate once by hand, slapping hard on dry paper towels to remove all particulate matter that may clog the ports of the washer. Then you can follow with 4 washes on your automated washer.
